GlassAI Neural ISP expands from still images to video, powered by Snapdragon® 8 Elite Gen 5 Mobile Platform

Hawaii – September 24, 2025 – Glass Imaging, the company redefining mobile camera quality with AI, today announced the expansion of its GlassAI Neural ISP to real-time video enhancement. Presented at Qualcomm Technologies, Inc.’s annual Snapdragon Summit on a reference device with Snapdragon® 8 Elite Gen 5, GlassAI Video demonstrated best-in-class 4K video with ultra-clear quality even at 20x zoom or higher. This real-time deployment of the GlassAI Neural ISP is enabled by Qualcomm Technologies’ advanced neural accelerator, the Qualcomm® Hexagon™ NPU.

The demo showcased how GlassAI Video transforms mobile videography, delivering cinematic clarity and detail that surpass traditional ISP pipelines. By leveraging the Hexagon NPU, GlassAI processes video streams in real time, producing cleaner, sharper footage across all zoom ranges — enabling smartphone OEMs to differentiate their products in one of today’s remaining camera challenges: high zoom for both image and video use cases. The technology also opens the door for consumer experiences such as recording a soccer or football match from the stands with unprecedented clarity at 20x zoom.

“Extending our Neural ISP from images to video is a massive leap,” said Tom Bishop, Ph.D., Founder and CTO of Glass Imaging. “What’s especially exciting is how well we preserve fine details and natural textures — even at 20x zoom or higher — while removing noise and correcting artifacts in every frame. It’s video enhancement without compromise.”

During the presentation, GlassAI Video was compared directly to the 2025 flagship device. Side-by-side footage highlighted GlassAI’s superior handling of high-zoom scenarios, and motion, demonstrating unmatched detail retention and temporal stability.

“Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 unlocks a new frontier for real-time AI,” said Ziv Attar, Founder and CEO of Glass Imaging. “GlassAI Video lets smartphone users capture pro-grade video with true-to-life detail — including crystal-clear results at 20x zoom or higher— something previously out of reach for mobile devices.”

About Glass Imaging

Glass Imaging was founded by Ziv Attar and Tom Bishop, Ph.D, former Apple engineers who led the team and created the technology behind the iPhone’s Portrait Mode. Their mission is to revolutionize the quality of compact camera systems, and close the performance gap with professional DSLR and mirrorless cameras. The broader Glass Imaging team has expertise across Optical Engineering, Computational Imaging, Deep Learning and efficient Computer Vision algorithms. The team is currently developing licensable IP, including GlassAI, across novel camera architectures and software based solutions. Exploiting the power of Edge AI chips present in today’s devices, the company’s GlassAI software can be tailored for any current or new camera to deliver photo quality far exceeding those shipped by OEMs. Glass Imaging is also using this technology to enable a new class of optical hardware designs that overcome limitations of traditional camera architectures.
